Bone Grafting

Patients with bone loss in the jaw bone after tooth loss may benefit from a bone grafting procedure. Three types of bone grafts, autogenous, allograft and xenograft, can be used to restore missing bone tissue.

Rige Augmentation/Preservation

If a tooth has been removed or has been lost for any reason, the jaw bone will start to deteriorate. This procedure can recreate the natural contours of the gums and bone. We can perform both soft tissue and hard tissue procedures to restore your smile.

Scaling & Root Planing

If you are in the early stages of gum disease and have pockets forming around the teeth, you may be a good candidate for this nonsurgical periodontal treatment. The procedure involves removing plaque and calculus deposits using an ultrasonic tool and hand instruments. We clean below the gum line and smooth out rough surfaces so the gums can reattach to the teeth.

Gingivectomy

We may need to remove and reshape loose gum tissue if the gums have not responded well to other periodontal treatments. The gingivectomy involves surgically removing diseased or excessive gum tissue.

We offer a FREE consultation for new patients! Learn more about our periodontal treatments such as the gingivectomy and osseous surgery by scheduling your appointment at Absolute Smile today.

Osseous/Flap Surgery

Osseous surgery, also known as flap surgery, is used when advanced gum disease has destroyed bone structure. By creating a flap in the gum tissue, the doctor can access the bone beneath to smooth out rough edges and reduce pockets.
